I've left your world
Entered another nook
Became a tricky crook
When the story unfurled.
Took a drink of the brook
Stopped for one last look
Before it faded and swirled.
Taken prisoner by the hook
Inside that very book
Whisked away and twirled.
Exhume me! This urban fantasy
Buries me beneath imagination
Running amok among oblivious stares
While I watch listless somewhere
Free me! These relentless fiends
That stalk their prey in city's day
Unknown to all but my own eyes
That sees them fall with a silent sigh
Harken me! My words not idle
But warning to the oblivious
Who cannot run and become victim
To things left unsaid and not dead
Come to me! Unearth this tomb
Where I lay with a mortal wound
From an age where I was present
Yet locked away while these persist
You run from me... For you they whet
Their immortal blade in coming sate
Flee this place, city
